It’s in all the news these days… a person’s “right-to-die,” like Brittany Maynard who suffered from a brain tumor and moved to Oregon where the laws allow people to utilize the option of taking their own life.
Though this is a hot political issue right now, don’t worry, I’m not going to get all political. I’m only going to focus this discussion on the underlying truths that uncover the deception of this tragedy.
My heart goes out to this one woman and her family. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and relocated to Oregon (that legalized right-to-die) months before she ended her life… in order to take her own life “on her terms” before the cancer did. On one side, it sounds brave doesn’t it? It certainly makes us sympathetic to her plight. But on the other side, we discover another layer to this horrible tragedy! Bottom Line? She believed a lie and the lie… not cancer, killed her!
She was so focused on dying that she quit trying to live—all because a doctor(s) told her she had only 6 months to live. He spoke “death” to her and she believed it. She then planned the final months of her life around that prognosis.
There is plenty of blame to go around, starting with her doctor, the medical system’s protocol for cancer (that deals with symptoms not the underlying cause), and the political right-to-die agenda that Brittany got involved with and became a poster child for. Once you align with a belief and go public it is nearly impossible to be open for another path.
Knowing that brain cancer is one of the EASIEST and most responsive cancers to alternative natural treatment, makes this scenario all the more tragic. And with what I now understand about cancer and the medical system, I don’t believe for a second that this woman had to die this year, next year or even for the next many decades from cancer. I think about this young woman—a wife and daughter—and think “what an unnecessary waste of life”. I believe if she had put some real effort into discovering how to live—into searching for the truth—she could have quite easily reversed her cancer and lived a full healthy life.
What are YOU focused on? Truth or deception? Health or sickness? Life or death?
The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 30:19, “… I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
This scripture tells us we have choices. Our decisions and what we believe really matters. But the Bible also tells us that “faith without works is dead”, telling us that we have to take action in agreement with what we believe.
When I was diagnoses with cancer I knew one thing for sure… God loved me and wanted me well. With that truth burning in my soul, I went on a search and discovered the truths that unlocked the mystery of cancer so that I could live. I chose life! Am I so special? No, not at all. We are all special to God and we are all equal in His sight. You too can chose life and help others by telling them that “No One Needs To Die Of Cancer. Not Anymore!”
Let me encourage you not to focus on the noise and thinking of this world which leads to death. Instead focus on the God of life… the God of truth. Keep your focus on His Word and live.
Choose God… CHOOSE LIFE!
