Does Your pH Really Matter?

Does pH really matter when it comes to your health? When I first discovered my path to reversing cancer, there were still a lot of details I didn’t understand. In the early days, people often asked me about my pH and my response was, “Huh?”

At the time I didn’t know anything about pH—I was just following the plan which I outline in my book, “Life, Cancer & God.” What I later learned is that my vegetarian juicing plan was automatically dealing with my pH perfectly.

In more recent years I’ve learned how critical pH is, to not only beating cancer and other chronic diseases—but avoiding disease altogether.

For those of you who don't know what pH means, it is the measurement of alkalinity and/or acidity in your body. Alkalinity is good and Acidity is bad, when it comes to health. And it is largely the foods and beverages that we consume that determine the pH of our body. And the pH of our body either guards us against disease or promotes it.

Now I do understand how you might not want to “give up” that addictive cup of coffee or pass on the juicy steak unless you understand “why.” So let me tell you now… these substances cause havoc to your pH balance. If you’re already sick – your acidic pH is part of the reason. All of us, sick or not, need to properly manage our pH. But if you’re sick now… you’ll want to deal with your pH… IMMEDIATELY!

It’s been proven again and again that cancer and other diseases can develop in an acidic pH environment. Some experts say that simply keeping our pH in check is enough to solve most of one’s health issues. Of course, there are also other components of having a healthy body besides your pH—like oxygen in your cells and plenty of water for adequate hydration. But the good news is that both oxygen and water are more abundant in the foods that create an alkaline environment. So, eating right is a win-win.

pH is measured on a scale from 1 to 14, with 7 being neutral. As an example, pure water is a 7—right in the middle. The pH numbers below 7 are acidic (with 0 being the most acidic). And the numbers above 7 are alkaline (with 14 being the most alkaline). According to the experts, and I agree… ideally, you want a slightly alkaline pH at all times.

In his book Sick and Tired, Dr. Robert Young states, “A chronically over-acidic body pH corrodes body tissue, slowly eating into the 60,000 miles of our veins and arteries like acid eating into marble. If left unchecked, it will interrupt all cellular activities and functions, from the beating of your heart to the neural firing of your brain. Over – acidification interferes with life itself, leading to all sickness and disease.”

Wow! That’s a strong statement. And he doesn’t even mention the obvious—how an acidic pH sets the stage for cancer. Did you know that coffee and soda are both HIGHLY acidic and BOTH lower your pH? Because they are caffeinated, they dehydrate as well. Most natural fruits and vegetables raise your pH and are alkaline in content—creating an alkaline environment in your body. In the back of my book “Life, Cancer and God,” in Appendix A, I answer the question so many have asked me … what I ate and drink, and in what quantities, in order to reverse the cancer in my body. I also share what I choose not to eat and drink. If you analyze the foods I mention on a pH scale, the things I rejected were acidic and the things I consumed were alkaline. It was NO coincidence. The same will happen with you. Your daily choices make a huge difference.

Here’s a little science. If your blood becomes acidic, your body compensates automatically by pulling the acidic substances from the blood and storing them in the cells. This natural automatic response keeps the pH in your blood slightly alkaline, which is good news for your blood. However, this same action is bad news for your cells - because they become acidic and toxic.

When this occurs, these cells don’t die as normal cells do but instead they adapt to the toxicity… and become abnormal cells. Unfortunately, in these abnormal, damaged cells, the DNA structure changes and as a result they begin to misbehave. With their new programming they no longer die… but instead multiply, producing more abnormal cells which become malignant cells. As they continue to multiply they eventually form detectable cancerous tumors. This describes how an acidic pH environment can develop cancer in our bodies.

Alkaline pH is important to maintaining a healthy body. If you’re sick, tired, head-achy and generally don’t feel good… and you want to get well… you will want to change what you’re putting into your body.

There’s the old saying—insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Many of us are guilty of that at times. But why not change what you’re doing today? Why not learn, change and get the result you want? Like feeling great again and living a long and fruitful life?

Your physical HEART
Your second “heart” is the physical organ in your chest that pumps blood through your body. It is the most important organ to keep you alive during your earth-life. Each of us receive only one body and one heart. When they stop working we move to the “rest of our life outside of our body.”

Even if you are headed toward heaven when your life ends, there is eternal purpose in every day of you live here so it is important to care for your physical heart.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of the body. An American has an avoidable heart attack every 30 seconds. Each year approximately 1.25 million people in the U.S. suffer a heart attack—and more than 400,000 of them die. Most deaths occur soon after symptoms appear and prior to the victim being admitted to the hospital. The really sad thing is that these deaths are preventable.

Most people die from heart attacks because they have believed wrong and worthless information. Our government and the American Heart Association have established weak, compromising guidelines that the government, doctors and medical professionals pass on to the public. This gives people a false sense of security.

Every person has the tendency to think “it won’t happen to them.” But the truth is that statistically if you are over age 40 you have a 95% chance that you suffer from atherosclerosis already. This is the hardening of your blood vessels.

Enough about the problem—the great news is that you can prevent and reverse heart disease. God designed our bodies to heal themselves. When we are effective stewards of the body God has given us we can life a long and HEALTHY life.

In John 10:10 AMP, Jesus told us “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” Jesus was talking about both types of life… spiritual AND physical. Jesus made many statements about our physical health and that He

We understand that it is God’s will that we walk in health and healing when we look at the ministry of Jesus. He lived God’s will out in His earthly ministry.  In Matthew 9:35 the Bible says, “Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.”

So how do we heal our physical heart? BY WHAT WE EAT!!! Eat the foods that God provided that have LIFE in them. Eat vegetables (lots of green), fruits, nuts, seeds, and legumes. Avoid animal products and saturated fat. Dramatically reduce processed foods that have little to no true nutritional value and eat foods that bring life. 

Most illnesses are self-induced and can be reversed with aggressive nutritional methods. An independent study participants who ate a “high vegetable and fruit diet” experienced a 33% drop in their bad (LDL) cholesterol. A high natural food (vegetable and fruit) diet will also reduce your weight—another serious contributor to heart disease and many other illnesses.

God has given us everything we need for living a healthy life. Good health is available to everyone. Be healthy and chose to live a long life. Pay attention to God’s Word also, for His Word is, “…life to those who find them, and healing and health to all their flesh.” AMP

6 Ways to Avoid Disease - by Paula Black

Do you feel like a sitting duck waiting to be hit by disease? Every day you get older and the odds are that disease will strike… unless you are proactively safeguarding your health.

It’s exciting to know that you can avoid disease—and even reverse it—by following some key principles of health. Your body was created to heal itself and you were designed by God to live a full HEALTHY life. So why don’t more of us experience this?

Usually, unknowingly, we violate God’s design and set ourselves up for disaster. Heart disease/stroke and cancer alone account for 1,334,500 deaths each year. That’s 3,656 people per day that die of just the top two diseases. And it’s growing.

A lot of people say, “Well, we have to die of something.” In response to that LIE, I say, “NO, no you don’t!” God’s plan is a healthy life. He paid for our sickness and disease on the cross. So how could it be acceptable to believe we have to die of a disease? We just need to understand how our body works.

Staying healthy, or regaining your health, is as much about what you should NOT do as it is about what you should do. Below are 5 basic keys you can start using right now that will greatly improve your health:

1)     Stay hydrated. Your cells need water to remain healthy. Make sure it is pure water, free from fluoride, chloride and other chemicals or toxins. Principle: Drink two-thirds of your body weight in ounces daily. (If you weigh 150 lbs. you would drink 100 ounces of water daily.)

2)     Nutrition is critical for your cells or they become weak and damaged. This is a common cause of cancer (abnormal cells ARE cancer). Drink two servings of natural organic vegetable juice daily and/or eat a raw vegetable salad (NOT iceberg lettuce—it has not nutritional value. Eat spinach, romaine, etc.) Try to eat 3 servings of raw or lightly steamed vegetables every day. In addition, other sources of nutrition are raw fruit, seeds and nuts, as well as a balanced diet or primarily natural raw foods. These are the foods God created for you.

3)     Avoid too much meat and dairy. Animal products cause our bodies to become acidic (pH) which is disease friendly. Whereas vegetables and fruits create an alkaline environment which suppresses disease. Yay!

4)     Avoid toxins as much as possible. I’m talking about toxins in your food. More than 70 excitotoxins (MSG, aspartame, cysteine and aspartic acid to name a few) are in most packaged and processed foods, chips, fast food, etc. These flavor enhancers are the taste that kills. They kill the neurons in our brains, causing brain damage (like Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s which is #7 of top deadly diseases). They also cause obesity, seizures, headaches, arthritis and many other ailments. Learn about them and steer clear.

5)     Stress kills plain and simple. It comes from many sources and causes our body to release stress hormones that are toxic to our immune system. Learn to manage your stress. One way is to get enough sleep every night. While you’re sleeping your body is rebuilding from all the damage throughout the day. Remember, unforgiveness and resentment cause stress. There is a reason God said to forgive. He wants you to live a healthy life.

6)     Oxygen in your cells in critical for healthy cells. You are made up of nothing but cells, so it is important that you give them what they need for health. An oxygen deprived cell becomes damaged and sick. A cell deprived oxygen is a time bomb waiting to go off. The solution is 30 minutes of walking or some other exercise daily. This causes us to increase oxygen to our lungs, therefore our blood, which carries oxygen to our cells. Be sure to keep moving throughout the day. As an additional bonus—exercise is a great stress reducer too.

These keys are a great place to start. If you are already deep in the throes of disease, you need to do the above and increase your approach.

Disease is disease—if you cure one, you cure them all.
